More about The Higher Love Project
We’ve been in the thick of the most challenging year Victorians have ever encountered. The toughest lockdowns in the world following some of the worst bushfires in history. It’s not been easy to be the state that has had to “take one for the team” while the rest of Australia seemingly gets on with living with a sense of normality. But for Victorians, amongst the constant worry, the home schooling, the loss of income, the separation from family & friends, some days feel like we’re only just our shit together.
As we move closer towards the other side of this clusterfk of a year & pull together the fragmented debris of what 2020 has left in its wake, we recognise that there is going to be some serious emotional rehabilitation ahead of all of us. The government-funded mental health services are backlogged and in all honesty, sometimes a counseling session via phone (once you’ve waited patiently for up to 2 months to actually get an appointment) is just not enough. Face to face mental health services & holistic counseling is what we want to throw our fundraising efforts behind.
The Higher Love Project, birthed from the brains of Victorian small business owners Danyel Waters (The Wholistic Health Coach) & Morgan Macdonald (Slightly Shirtee) was born to lift the spirits of Victorians, in particular, Melbournians & raise some much-needed funds for those who will need it most.
The Higher Love Project is set to combine Danyel’s thoughts that dancing makes everything better (and Whitney Houston can do no wrong) with Morgan’s petulance for creating on-trend slogan tees to raise the State’s vibration. We’re doing this with an epic social media movement, we’re literally bringing the Higher Love to Victorians, encouraging all Australians to get behind the dance-off to the song Higher Love (Whitney & Kygo version of course) and purchase a Higher Love t-shirt. $10 of which will be donated back to Victorians in need.
